The Divinium Archive / Legal record 02

Privacy
policy.

How we collect, use, secure, and share the signals that keep the archive alive.

Effective: 01 August 2025Last revised: 01 August 2025Governing record: DU-002

This Privacy Policy explains how Divinium Archive, Inc. collects and handles information when you visit our websites, use our digital reading experiences, create an account, subscribe to a dispatch, purchase Merchandise, or otherwise interact with our Services. It describes our practices as a business and is not a promise that every practice applies in every jurisdiction. Where local law gives you additional rights, those rights control.

01. Information you provide

We collect information you choose to provide, including your name, email address, account credentials, age or consent information, delivery and billing addresses, customer-support correspondence, survey responses, newsletter preferences, and public profile or community material. When you make a purchase, our payment service provider processes payment details; we generally receive a token, transaction status, and limited billing metadata rather than a complete card number.

Do not submit sensitive personal information, government identifiers, private keys, health information, or confidential creative material through a form unless we specifically request it through a secure channel.

02. Lore data logging

To make the archive feel continuous across devices, we log interactions such as pages and issues viewed, search terms, reading position, saved characters, collection activity, referral source, device type, browser, approximate location derived from IP address, and error events. We call these records “Lore Data.” We use Lore Data to sync your account, recommend relevant archive entries, understand aggregate reading patterns, prevent abuse, measure performance, and improve accessibility and editorial discovery.

We design Lore Data to describe your relationship with fictional worlds, not to infer sensitive traits about you. We do not sell reading history as a standalone data product. We may use de-identified, aggregated trend reports for publishing, audience research, or partner reporting, and those reports are designed not to identify an individual.

03. How we use information

We use information to provide and personalize the Services; authenticate accounts; fulfill orders; send transactional notices and, where allowed, editorial marketing; respond to requests; monitor security; detect fraud; troubleshoot; conduct analytics; maintain records; comply with law; and enforce our agreements. We may combine information collected across Divinium services for these purposes.

Our legal bases, where required by applicable law, include performance of a contract, consent, legitimate interests in operating and protecting a publishing platform, compliance with legal obligations, and the establishment or defense of legal claims. You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing.

04. Sharing and service providers

We share information with vendors that help us host infrastructure, deliver email, process payments, ship orders, provide customer support, measure service performance, manage consent, and protect against fraud. Those providers may process information only under our instructions and contractual safeguards. We may share information with rights-holders when necessary to administer licensed content, with professional advisers subject to confidentiality, or with authorities when legally required.

If Divinium is involved in a merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction subject to applicable confidentiality and privacy requirements. We do not authorize third parties to use your personal information for their own unrelated advertising without a lawful basis and appropriate notice.

05. Retention and security

We keep account, transaction, licensing, and customer-support records for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, to meet accounting and legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Lore Data is retained in identifiable form while your account is active and for a limited period afterward for security, analytics, and legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified according to our retention schedule.

We use access controls, encryption in transit, environment separation, logging, vendor review, and incident-response procedures appropriate to the information and risk. No internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed to be completely secure. If a security incident legally requires notice, we will notify affected people and regulators as required.

06. Your choices and requests

You may update account details, unsubscribe from editorial messages using the link in a message, adjust non-essential cookies in our Cookie Notice, and request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection where those rights apply. To make a request, email privacy@divinium.archive with the subject “Privacy request.” We may need to verify your identity and may retain information we must keep by law.

We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing of Lore Data. We may use automated security and fraud signals to flag activity for review, limit access, or request verification.

07. Children, transfers, and contact

The Services are not directed to children under thirteen. If you believe a child provided information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will investigate and delete it where required. Divinium may process information in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. We use contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards for cross-border transfers when required.

Privacy questions may be sent to Divinium Archive Privacy, 110 Mercer Street, Floor 4, New York, NY 10012, or privacy@divinium.archive. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
